No. While your child is in the water during their scheduled lesson, they will be closely supervised by trained instructors. However, parents or guardians must remain onsite and are responsible for their children before and after class.
Yes. Although we prioritize safety and our instructors are trained, swimming is a physical activity that comes with some inherent risk. By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept that injuries or accidents may occur.
Please keep your child home if they are showing signs of illness, especially if they have a fever, open wounds, diarrhea, or a contagious condition. This helps keep all swimmers and instructors safe and healthy.
If a class is canceled due to weather (for example, lightning or heavy storms), we will reschedule at no additional cost.
We occasionally take photos or short videos for social media and promotional use. If you prefer your child not be included, just let us know in writing—we’re happy to accommodate!
We maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio and focus heavily on water safety. Instructors demonstrate and model each skill, and boundaries are clearly explained at the beginning of class. Parents are also encouraged to cheer and support their swimmers from the poolside.
Yes! Our pool is heated to a comfortable temperature to ensure an enjoyable learning environment, especially for younger swimmers. This helps children stay relaxed and focused during their lessons.
We maintain the pool temperature between 86–90°F, which is the recommended range for swim lessons for children. This helps prevent shivering and supports better learning and comfort.
We understand that life happens! While we are unable to offer prorated refunds for partially completed sessions, we’re happy to discuss options on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out directly to talk through your specific situation.
Swim lessons at Swim Altus are not classified as a medical service, so they are typically not covered by private health insurance. However, some families have successfully used Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) when lessons are recommended by a medical provider for safety or developmental reasons. We’re happy to provide an itemized receipt if needed for reimbursement purposes.
Yes! Through the end of September 2025, we’re offering a $10 off sibling discount when you enroll more than one child in our swim classes. It’s our way of saying thank you for choosing Swim Altus for your family! Use code SIBLING to save $10.
